The expanded form of AIDS is Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome which is also called acquired immunodeficiency syndrome. Breastfeeding, oral or vaginal sex, anal sex, childbirth, transfusion of blood, pregnancy where blood gets exchanged between the baby and mother, hypodermic needles that are infected, etc are some of the methods involved in HIV transmission. Till date it has not been documented that HIV gets transmitted by saliva or tears. As the saying goes that prevention is always better than cure, it is best to always be aware and take measures that are preventive for reducing HIV AIDS. HIV is a virus that comes from the retrovirus family.
It is the white blood cells that get targeted by the HIV virus. The immune system's component that is most important is the white blood cells. Infections are caused easily and diseases cannot be prevented by the immune system due to this. After the virus is contracted, it can take a good number of years to develop the disease.
